Sfara Guardian 1.0
Overview
Sfara Guardian Version 1.0 is a safety app that uses mobile motion sensors to provide 4D situation-awareness protection for everyday smartphone users.
As the sole UI/UX designer, I created the user flows and wireframes, guided the visual art direction and motion design, and advised on interface design from beginning to end.

Process
Wireframing and user flows
The design focused on immediate access to the app’s three main features: Crash Detection, Manual Emergency SOS, and Safety Checkpoint. Version 1.0 was intentionally simple, making the major functions clear while creating a foundation for future features.
Crash protection, allowing users to enable a sphere of safety when they are in a car accident.
Instant access to Emergency SOS services.
A safety checkpoint timer that triggers SOS in a predefined time frame.
Challenge and resolution
The initial onboarding introduced Coach Mark during first-time sign-up. The team needed to meet App Store permission guidelines without overwhelming users with a lengthy onboarding flow. The experience also needed to support first-time sign-up, returning signed-in users, and returning users restoring a purchase after deleting the app.
We replaced the original seven-to-eight-screen Coach Mark sequence with a simpler initial sign-up experience. The tutorial moved into Settings, where users could learn key features when they needed it.
Outcome
Launched Sfara Guardian 1.0 in 7 months, establishing the core UX framework and scalable design foundation for future product releases.
